When I made this recipe “unicorn fart” was the first thing that popped in my head! I guess it’s because of how pink and fluffy it was HA HA! I told my husband I would make a post about this. He shook his head and said, “You’re something else.” I know I’m weird but I’m at peace with that. If the title made you laugh my mission has been successful! My kids want to help do laundry now because they think it’s the coolest thing ever!
This recipe is awesome because it’s condensed and makes about 120+ loads. It can be a great option for people with sensitive skin. You will need
4 cups of boiling water
2 quart mason jars
1 bar of Zote
1 box of washing soda
1 cup of borax
30 drops of lavender essential oil
30 drops of orange essential oil
30 drops of jasmine essential oil
Cut Zote into 24 small pieces. Microwave 6 pieces at a time for 2 minutes. Let cool, it will be very hot. Once cooled they will crumble into small pieces.
Boil 4 cups of water. Add Zote to water. Stir continually till Zote is melted should take 10-15 minutes.
Add borax, essential oils, and
washing soda to water and Zote mixture. Stir continually until powder is dissolved, should take about 5 minutes. Divide the mixture equally into the mason jars.
Add 1 1/2 cups of hot water to each jar. Put the lid on turn jar upside down. The layers will separate. Let jar sit for 2-3 hours. Pour mixture into stand mixer and whip ingredients.
The mixture will be thick like mayonnaise. Use 1 tablespoon for a normal load, 2 tablespoons for large loads. This laundry soap is he friendly.
