Sometimes in your life God will speak to you and you need to act fast. Someone may come to your mind and you get a check in your spirit something isn’t right. When this happens, please don’t ignore it.

At the minimum call and see if this person is okay and pray for them. If it turns out they’re fine, you get to catch up with your loved one, no big deal. I had this happen, and it was a life or death situation.

I went to bed late that night and had to get up early. I’m the kind of person once I hit the pillow I’m out. This night God woke me up while I was sound asleep. He said, “Go check on Monica” (name changed).

I thought it was weird, in this part of my life I wasn’t walking closely with God at all. I was tired and attempted to fall back asleep. I heard again, “GO CHECK ON MONICA NOW!”

The feeling was so intense I shot out of bed and left to go find her. Once I could locate Monica in her home, my eyes fell on a heartbreaking scene. Monica had a knife in her hand and was trying to stab herself. Her arm was raised in the air ready to strike.

I shouted her name, startled she missed her arm. She dropped the knife and ran away crying. I stayed up all night trying to console her. Monica said I was her hero that day. I was grateful I didn’t ignore what God was telling me.

Update years later Monica recovered and is now the happiest she’s ever been. No matter where you are in your walk with Jesus be reassured He can use you. He needs you to make yourself available, it might save someone’s life.

If you’re considering taking your own life, please know you’re not alone. A bad day does not mean you have a bad life. There is nothing worth taking your own life.

If you were gone, there will be a void in the heart of everyone that loves you. The void could never be filled by someone else. You’re irreplaceable.

Every urge to call you would end with tears because you’re not there and it hurts so much.

You were created for a purpose and assignment that only you can fulfill. God has an unconditional, intense, unwavering love towards you. There is nothing you could do to make Him love you less.

People may have hurt you by making you feel insignificant. Know this, it says EVERYTHING about them and NOTHING about you.

If you need someone to talk to reach out to a trusted family member or friend. Notify your doctor right away if you’re suicidal.  You can always call the Nation Suicide Prevention Lifeline 24/7 for free and confidential support 1-800-273-8255.

There will always be opportunities when God can use you to uplift someone.

Your friend may just need to be encouraged and when you visited it made all the difference. There will be endless opportunities for you be a reminder that someone is important, loved, and not alone. You can be that someone.
