FREE TOOLS

I used this idea to get free tools over and over. I’ve been able to get many items we needed for free and give others as gifts. Whenever I tell someone my strategy to get tools for free they’re excited to do it too. It’s so easy you could have your kids do it as well.

When I saw they were building a harbor freight in my town, I literally did a first pump! It meant one thing to me, FREE TOOLS!  They have these amazing coupons! You can buy any item in the store and get tools for free. I get about four Sunday papers every week (for extreme couponing you can read more here) and the tool coupons are always in my paper. You can also sign up for a free catalog in the store! I have gotten these items free with coupon

  • 24 pack batteries
  • Gloves
  • Goggles
  • Wash cloths
  • Tarp
  • 6 piece screw driver set
  • Flash lights
  • Magnetic holder
  • Power outlet
  • Digital multi-meter
  • Measuring tape
  • Ratchet bar clamp
  • Moving blanket
  • Cable ties
  • Utility knife
  • rope
  • 4-in-1 screwdriver
  • electric fly swatter
  • pickup and reach tool
  • 18″ magnetic holder
  • Swivel lens headlamp

Look at all these free tool coupons from just one newspaper! Here is the deal you have to buy something in order to use your free item coupon. It says “free with ANY purchase.” What exactly does this mean for us frugal shoppers?  For example you can buy a box cutter for $0.49 and get a free $4.99 pack of batteries for free! You might think, “Well they won’t let me do that.” Actually it’s a part of the sales technique to get you to shop at the store. It gets better though!

You can make this deal even more awesome by using a 20% off coupon on your $0.49 box cutter. After tax in my state I would pay just $0.38 for $5.84 in products.

For the item your buying to get your free item. I always look for item under a dollar. Some examples I’ve found are:

  • Mini measuring tape $0.99
  • Scissors $0.99
  • Paint brushes varying from $0.59-$0.99
  • Key chain clip $0.99
  • Electric black tape $0.89
  • Superglue $0.99
  • Socket rail $0.99
  • Utility scraper set $0.99
  • Magnets $0.99

  • Applicator pad (for cleaning) $0.99
  • Key chain flashlight $0.99

  • Plastic clamps varying $0.69-$0.99
  • 4 piece funnel set $0.99
  • Mechanics wire $0.99

There is a limit one coupon per person per day. When my husband I are in town we make a 5 minute pit stop at harbor freight and get our freebies. Several items can be used in a gift basket (learn more here about how a gift closet can save you hundreds). Here are a couple of ideas:
